Health & Safety :: Comfort and Productivity
Some might think that the connection between acoustics and comfort and productivity is a stretch, but nothing could be further from the truth. Design professionals know that end-users of a space must be comfortable in order to be productive. When this goal is met, a space is considered functional (usually the client’s ultimate goal). Noise is the number one impediment to productivity. Sometimes, when end-users of a space are uncomfortable they can’t quite put their finger on the problem. In such cases, the culprit is often poor acoustics. Remedying this problem can be as simple as implementing proper space planning techniques or specifying adequate acoustic products.
